Nicephore Niepce

A. Joseph Niepce was born on March 7, 1765.
He was unable to draw the images created by the camera obscura, so he had his son draw them for him. When his son was drafted he had to find a way to obtain images without having to draw them out.
B. Nicephore Niepce was known for the first recorded photograph, he called it a heliograph.
C. Noteworthy properties of this image, besides the fact that it is the first photograph taken, is that it is a negative image
D. The first photo is a basic image, containing a building, a barn and a small tree. It was taken in France.
E. It took eight hours to create this simple exposure.
F. The photo was taken in 1826.

Where is the photo today? Starting in 2003 the photo is on display at the Harry Ransom Humanities Research Center at the University of Texas in Austin.
